European Heritage Days 2013:
As part of the 2013 European Heritage Days, the Fondation pour le Rayonnement de la Trompe Musicale and the Musée de l'Armée teamed up, with the support of the Fondation François Sommer pour la Chasse et la Nature, to present a scientific and musical programme.

13 September: “Les Fastes de la Trompe” Symposium • Hôtel national des Invalides – Auditorium Austerlitz

• Welcome by Major General Christian Baptiste; opening speech by Sophie de Laporte
• Morning: “L’instrument et sa facture” (The instrument and its construction), chaired by Jean-Pierre Chaline
Talks and papers delivered by Pascale Bourgain, Colonel Jean-Michel Sorlin, Olivier Chaline, René Caussé, Thierry Maniguet, with the participation of Hubert Heinrich and Yannick Bureau.
• Afternoon: “Répertoire et présence de la trompe” (Repertoire and presence of the horn), chaired by Jean-Michel Leniaud
Talks and papers delivered by Catherine Massip, Raphael Abrille, Jean-Pierre Chaline, with the participation of Pierre de Rouälle, Antoine de la Rochefoucauld and Hubert Heinrich.

14 September: “Grandes fanfares aux Invalides” • Hôtel national des Invalides

• 15:00 - Performance of L'Écho à l'Empereur under the Dôme des Invalides by the Rallye Trompes des Vosges (free admission within venue capacity).
• 16:00 - Horn and Grand Organ Concert at the Saint-Louis des Invalides Cathedral; works from the classical and contemporary horn repertoire by the Rallye Trompes des Vosges and organist Éric Ampeau.

15 September: “Grandes fanfares aux Invalides” - Hôtel national des Invalides

• 10:45 - Mass for horns and organ in memory of Compagnon de la Libération (French Resistance fighter) Pierre Messmer at the Saint-Louis Cathedral. Grand fanfare performance in honour of the invalides .
• 14:30 - Fanfares by the Rallye Trompes de Paris, accompanied by soloists from the Rallye Trompes des Vosges in the Cour du Dôme.
• 16:00 - Concert by the Formation des Trompes de Chasse de l’Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine at the Saint-Louis Cathedral.

3 November: “Messe de Saint-Hubert” at Notre-Dame de Paris

As part of the 850th anniversary of the construction of Notre-Dame de Paris, the Fondation pour le Rayonnement de la Trompe Musicale, with the support of the Fondation François Sommer pour la Chasse et la Nature, is celebrating Saint-Hubert's Day by commissioning Hubert Heinrich and Lionel Sow to write a Saint-Hubert's Mass for Horns, Choir and Organ, in which a prayer to the Holy Mother by Valéry Giscard d'Estaing and an invocation to Notre-Dame by Michel Zink are set to music.

11 November: “90th anniversary of the Rekindling of the Flame” under the Arc de Triomphe

On 11 November 1923, the Sacred Flame was lit for the first time under the Arc de Triomphe. Since then, it has been rekindled every evening in homage to the Unknown Soldier and all the soldiers who have died to defend France, and to express the hope for a world at peace.
On the occasion of this eternal Flame’s 90th anniversary, former military governor of Paris and President of the Flame Committee Army General Bruno Dary asked the Fondation pour le Rayonnement de la Trompe Musicale to contribute to the exceptional torchlight ceremony. This ceremony took place on 11 November 2013 from 20:00 to 22:00 in the presence of the highest State authorities.
