The hunting horn at the Musical Academy of Villecroze

​

On May 4, 5 and 6, 2022, as part of a partnership between the FRTM and the Académie Musicale de Villecroze chaired by Anne Postel-Vinay, granddaughter of the Founder of the Academy, Nicolas Dromer and the players of the Dromer Musical Institute took part in the horn class of Bruno Schneider, professor at the Geneva University of Music and soloist in the most prestigious orchestras.

This residency of the ETIMD, the Ensemble de Trompes de l'Institut Musical Dromer, at the Académie Musicale de Villecroze was an opportunity for debates and fruitful exchanges between the students of Bruno Schneider and the pipers present, Nicolas Dromer, Grégory Pichard, Jérome Amelot, François Bouttet and Yannick Bureau.
During two concerts, in the open-air theater and in the Saint-Victor chapel, the ETIMD was able to present to the loyal and chosen public of the Academy the hunting horn through hunting tunes, more musical pieces from the repertoire of brass bands by masters or crews and scholarly compositions notably by Morin, Mouret but also by Sylvain Oudot, Hubert Heinrich or Gaston Chalmel.
Thanks to the FRTM, the ETIMD was able to establish a close relationship with the Académie Musicale de Villecroze and Nicolas Dromer was called upon to propose the organization of an international hunting horn master class!
The horn at the Académie Musicale de Villecroze has been a legitimate ambition of the FRTM for many years. The residency offered to ETIMD is the resounding recognition of the work of Nicolas Dromer, Guyaume Vollet, Sylvain Oudot or Gustave Cuypers, and of the high musical level of a few rare groups of sonneurs of excellence, such as the Débuché de Paris, Les Trompes de Bonne, Les Echos de la Jeunesse, the Rallye Atlantique and of course the ETIMD, the Ensemble de Trompes of the Institut Musical Dromer.
